Thank you for your interest in a position at Gatzsch Schweißtechnik in Attendorn. Data protection is particularly important to us, so we would like to transparently inform you about how your application data is used (in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 GDPR) within our company and explain your rights regarding the handling of your data. Your personal data (such as your name, email, and other details) will, of course, always be processed in compliance with GDPR.

According to GDPR, personal data includes all information related to an identified or identifiable natural person. “Identifiable” means that conclusions can be drawn about the person based on this information (Article 4, Section 1 GDPR). As a company, we process your data in accordance with Article 4, Section 2 GDPR, which includes storing, deleting, using, and internally sharing your data. Processing is carried out as part of your application to assess whether an employment relationship can be established, with a particular focus on your skills, knowledge, and qualifications. We implement all necessary technical and organizational measures to protect your data as best as possible (Article 32 GDPR). However, we cannot guarantee that there are no security gaps during the transmission of data over the internet.

Categories of Data

Through your application, we receive personal data from you. In some cases, we also obtain information from third-party platforms like Xing or LinkedIn. This typically includes details you provide yourself, such as your professional qualifications, knowledge, and skills, which are a key basis for our selection. Additionally, we would like to inform you that meeting minutes are taken during interview discussions.

Purpose of Processing and Legal Basis

Your personal data is used exclusively within the application process and is not shared with third parties. Internally, your data is only passed on to the responsible manager.

If employment is established, your data may be further processed in accordance with legal requirements. In this case, you will receive additional information about data protection and data processing in our company.

The legal basis for processing your data is Section 38 of the DSG (German Data Protection Act) in conjunction with Article 6 GDPR.

If you agree to have your application held on file for future job openings, this is also lawful. For this, we require your written consent within one week. In this case, your data will be stored for one year and considered for suitable positions. After this period, the data will be irretrievably deleted.

Data Sharing

The personal data we receive through your application will only be forwarded internally to the responsible managers. Additionally, the HR department will have access to your application documents. Your data will not be shared with third parties under any circumstances.

Retention Period

In general, your data is only stored for as long as legally required or necessary for the application process.

Your data will be stored:

  • For the duration of the application process or
  • In case of rejection:
    • Until the rejection notice is sent.
    • As long as necessary to clarify inquiries or disputes, but no longer than 6 months after the rejection notice is sent.
  • If you have explicitly consented to keeping your data on file:
    • For one year after the end of the application process.

Applicant Rights

According to GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict processing, transfer data, and object to processing at any time. To exercise these rights, a written notice must be sent to Gatzsch Schweißtechnik GmbH.

In the event of a data breach that poses a high risk to your personal rights and freedoms, and if we cannot eliminate this risk through appropriate technical and organizational measures, we will notify you immediately.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection regulations or that your data protection rights have been infringed, you have the right to file a complaint with the competent data protection authority.
